Well, it's snowing here at our home. I guess canning season is almost over. Check out the
home canning
page if you have any questions on how to finish up canning your green beans, beets, carrots, applesauce, peaches, or tomatoes. Many people have asked for the
root cellar
page. I just finished it yesterday. You'll have to hurry if you're going to build a root cellar this fall. It's a great way to store your potatoes, carrots, and beets. Download instructions for building a cellar at the bottom of the root cellar page.
Didn't you love Dad's pages on
controlling weeds
and
growing garlic?
While uploading the page, I learned things I didn't know before. Thanks Dad. Plant your garlic now if you haven't already done so. I've had many requests to get going on the healthy garden and food storage recipe page. I'm ready to get started on this project. You'll be able to search for recipes by ingredient or by category. Here's what you can do to help. I'm going post my family and friends favorite recipes. But you also have great recipes that your family absolutely loves. If each one of you submitted 2-3 recipes, we could share over a thousand recipes on this website. The focus for these recipes is food storage, garden food, and healthy recipes. Use the
submit-a-recipe-form
to send us your recipe. Thanks for sharing your experience for the benefit of everyone.
The
Rewards Blog
is a new addition to the website. As I add new pages, they are listed on the blog. If you want to know "what's new" on the website, click on the Rewards Blog. The newest updates are listed at the top. You can also subscribe to the RSS feed and have the blog updates sent to your personal page (you'll find this at the bottom of the left-hand nav bar).
We've had many requests for a
shopping cart.
There are only three items in the Provident Living Store right now, but I'll get going on adding other useful items. Take a few minutes to read these
three short stories
that teach the importance of self-reliance, capitalism, and individualism. I think you'll enjoy them as much as I did when I read them.
We just posted a page on the
swine flu vaccine
and
Vitamin D3.
You'll want to read through both of these pages before flu season begins. You can access these pages from the main swine flu page.
Clean water
is essential. I have a couple pages to add to this part of the website, but there is a lot of information there right now. Make sure you have a way to purify your water during a crisis or emergency.
If you would like to attend a pandemic preparedness, water purification, or food storage class, look at the Seminars Page to find a seminar near you. We have a
big seminar
on October 10th in the Salt Lake area. The morning classes will focus on spiritual preparation, and the afternoon classes will focus on physical preparation. If you are interested in attending this seminar, check out the details on the seminars page.
If you enjoy getting this ezine each month, forward it on to your friends and let them know they can subscribe to the
Rewards Ezine.
Thanks for all your support as we build the
Provident Living Today website.
Have a Great Month,
Jennifer
